Sent this email to Marc at ARB:

I have the rear locker and plan to add a front one when available. When I have the locker engaged in 4LO with the center locked, should I also have VSC and TRC turned off? A few people I’ve talked to say you should to avoid the brakes attempting to hold a “spinning” tire, when in fact you want it to move because the locker is holding the axles together. Others have said the brakes will not even attempt to engage because the tire never actually spins.

His response:

Justin,

the traction control system uses the different wheel speeds to determine whether it needs to interfere. If you have lockers locked on both ends of the truck there is no difference in wheel speed anywhere so the truck "sees" no reason to operate the traction control and therefore simply does nothing at all. No different than if you were driving the truck straight and flat on paved roads. If you have just the rear locker the traction control will only attempt to correct a spinning wheel which in this case could only happen in the front and the rear will be unaffected.

Marc

Hopefully this clears up some confusion I've heard about disabling the VSC and TRC when locked. :)
