I'm looking for ideas as to where to mount the ARB compressor in my 4runner. I used to have it inside the engine compartment on my Prado but the 4runner does not seem to have enough space in there.

I was thinking somewhere in the cargo area, hopefully out of sight and with minimal perforations.

I have the small compressor (CKSA12)

Thanks in advance for any ideas or pics you want to share.

Here is where I originally had mine mounted. It worked pretty well as long as you didn't try to use it to inflate to many tires. The heat soak from the engine coupled with multiple sets of tires could overheat it and pop the fuse. I've seen the newer blue ARB compressor and it's a bit bigger. Is that the one you have?

Here is a complete writeup on my site.

And here's a writeup I did for the front locker for 4x4wire
ARB Air Locker for Toyota IFS

I no longer run this compressor. Currently I have a 3/4hp compressor under the front bumper.

Ah, here's another pic. The original ARB compressor bracket is still there but I run a manifold now that supplies air to the air suspension, lockers, air tanks and pressure switch.

I'd probably go in the rear passenger side storage compartment. It may be a tight squeeze but I think it would fit.

The only concern I'd have with the storage area would be the heat. It just might get too hot in there for the plastic. Not sure though. I have a different compressor that's kinda similar in design that I just use as a portable for now. I'm interested to see what you decide as I'd like to hard mount mine. I've also thought about putting in right on top of a rear fender. If it doesn't need to be vertical there may be enough room under the front passenger seat. I haven't really looked that closely.
