I'm looking at getting an LX and want to put a sahara bar on--we live in Mexico and I like the added protection. I will also put lights on as well. I would also forcast a fridge and 2nd battery. Anything else I need right off? This cruiser is going to be geared towards the highway for road trips.

Front Torsion Bars--is this a must for the ARB?

Are you using a winch? I have the sahara bar w/ no winch, stock t-bars. The AHC will automatically level the vehicle in neutral or high. In low, my front end sits about 1/2-3/4" lower.

No,

the winch bar is just for protection. So with the slee t-bars do you think it would sit level in low? I get the idea that not too many LX's have mods..... Yours looks good.

The general consensus is the AHC will handle an ARB bumper just fine. Add a winch and you'll want to swap in OEM LC T-bars. OME T-bars would have too high a spring rate. Val768 is using the Deluxe ARB which I believe is heavier than the Sahara. You might want to PM him.

Adding another battery and lights is like 50-60lbs (but not quite hanging over the front edge like a winch/bumper)--so now you are in a gray area. My guess is, yes, you'll want uprated T-bars. Makes for better emergency handling too.

Sahara alone is fine with AHC, add a winch however, and no-more-high-mode. 2 cranks of the TB's makes it happen, but it ignores the spring rate issue that can be "solved" with the other LC bars (as you can tell, I've been recently through all of this).

the car with stock t-bar with AHC would be bouncy , change the T-bar to arb or sway away slee at this time he don't sell his t-bars

The best option could be to add the t-bars from a 100-series Land Cruiser as these are stiffer than the LX bars but not as stiff as the aftermarket bars (ARB,SwayAway ect...). Should also be available cheap from someone doing a suspension upgrade on their LC.

I believe SleeOffRoad's custom LX was riding on 100 series Landcrusier T-bars and it had a lot of added weight.
