i picked this ARB bumper up for $20 from the scrap yard and maybe that’s where it belongs but i figured for 20 bucks why not!
Anyone have any ideas on how to straighten/bend this back?

I was thinking a porta power or some sort of hydraulic press and heat... I don’t know

Any advice would be much appreciated!

cut the hoops off and fab your own or have someone do it for you?

The frame rails line up I think cutting the bull bars off and hydraulic pressing it apart is the way to go

As long as frame rails are good the loops are no big deal.

However did you really drive around town with 80+ lbs of steel not secured? That could create some headaches

It is ok because he has about 90# of other crap back there too :meh::meh::meh::meh::meh::meh:

I’d see if it fits your framerails, but just use it as a template for doing your own thing.

That is toast if you’re looking for anything better than the “Mad Max” look.

Template for $20 -sure.
Something worth straightening -not a prayer.

I think your right, it does fit onto the frame rails though!

For as easy as they are to bend in the rocks they dont like to bend back so easy.

It seems its for an 80 series and nice that it fits the frame rails then i second using it as a base or template for a build.

Whats the overall bumper condition sans hoops? I see a twisted pass wing but otherwise kinda looks straight. Hard to tell.

I would mount that, then use a chain, strap and a tree to pull it back into shape (at least as close as possible, then cut off the hoops and make new ones.

For me, it's easier to rework one like that than to start from scratch and build new. To me, it would be worth it.

We have a bent one, not as bad as that one, frame mounts are still straight, etc. Thought about repairing it, but, the tube is metric, the bend radius is tighter than anything we have access to. So have been cutting it up, using parts of it to save less bent ones.

That one looks to be pretty badly bent, wouldn't want to put the pressure needed to straighten it on a frame, or not on my frame! :hillbilly: Maybe if the structure were cut, attempt to straighten, then bang some straight back into the structure and weld it back together?

Thought about cutting the face mask tubing off, and straightening the beam and having a more simple bumper. But they are pretty wimpy (not necessarily a bad thing from an accident perspective) with the amount of work needed, would be better to just use the frame sockets and build something better?

See if itll bolt up, pull the wings this way or that with a strap to the tube, then cut the tube off and have someone bend you up some 1 3/4 .120 hrew hoops

The frame horns are pretty stout and theres a crossmember not far behind them. Wouldnt bother me

Slap it on, cut off the big upper bars that look mangled, and use a strap or winch on the wings if needed. They are ugly to begin with anyway so for $20 who cares.
