ARB bumper spacing to the body (1 Viewer)

I bought a used LC that had a ARB bumper and it had about a 1 inch gap between the top and the body. It bugged me to the point of trying to fix it. Damn OCD.

What you think, worth it? Was pretty easy other than lifting the bumper back on by myself.. I bet it weighs 200 lbs.

Hard to see the gap but its the only pic I have.

After..yep I cut the top off too. Not an easy place to cut. Have to clean it up still.

Had to cut about a 1/2 off of the body mount here. Blue arrow is where the spacer was.

Also cut about a 1/2 in off of the front bottom of the of the frame rail where the factory bumper mounts. I'm debating on getting the spacer that goes between the mount and the frame rail milled down to fit, probably only about a 1/4 in left between the frame and the bumper mount.
I put a 1/2 spacer on the top of the frame rail a well. Probably end up taking it back off to put some solid weatherstrip because the bumper is touching the body now.

The body and frame flex quite a bit and so there should be some sort of gap (1/2" should be fine). Some versions of the Sahara bar came with a rubber filler piece. A suitable substitute could be sourced too. @fireball 's 100...

That frame mount is a bit different than mine. How is should be done I guess. It even shows cutting the front bumper area off (step 3). 1/2 in is doable. I probably have a 1/4 in some spots and 1/2 in in other. I need to grind down the weld in one spot that is almost touching. I looked everywhere for a manual for mine, shows page not found on ARB

Pretty sure my bumper hit a few things in the past, it was kinda tilted forward so the gap was much larger near the grill, like 2 inches. The bumper definitely doesn't fit all that well, one side sticks out about an 1 in where the fender meets up, you can see it in the picture there on the passenger side. Just trying to make it look like its not going to fall off any sec.

That looks good, definitely what I was thinking.

You need to have a 15mm spacing between the bumper and the fender, otherwise, the bumper may hit your fender under frame flex.

@chickon1 you also have the pre-2003 ARB, from Slee: "ARB Combination Bar Part: ARB1011", and the mounting instructions are different from the ones linked above.

You should be able to get it off of there and re-positioned without much trouble. Easier to have someone helping.

Ya. Noticed that, it wouldn't move up at all until cut some pieces. Anyway, I have about 15 mm of clearance, no issue there.
Used the crap right here. Scotch paded it to knock of the shine

Anyone have the mounting instructions for an ARB1011 (98-2002 100 series)?

Or, does anyone have the name or part number of the rubber "cushions" for the bumper? Some poor Navy pilot jumped a curb today in her Wrangler and hit me head on while parked. Slight dent in the ARB, but it tore off one of the cushions. Trying to track a new one down.

But I'd recommend a quick email/call to ARB USA and ask them - super friendly & responsive. I inquired about some touchup paint color code, and they sent a pen in the mail that day.
