I just ordered my arb today and i'm qurious about lighting options. I tried to search it but found little. Ive seen the Rigid led setup on slees bumper but not on an arb. Curious to see if anyone has done it yet. And i'd also love to see pics of your arb/lighting any suggestions would help but i'm kinda leaning towards Rigid.

I got nothing...:p

Those Rigid lights are the schiznitz. Gotta wait for production costs to come down before they fit in my wallet.

On the other hand, stock headlamps on an 80 are really impressive. I'm not suffering at night.:meh:

ARB needs to make the 100 series bumper for the 80. I like where the lights are on that bumper.

Tapage, very nice rig!!!

I agree the arb for the 80 is dated but it's iconic. I'm thinking maybe a twenty inch e series led bar mounted on the arb top bar lot's of light and doesn't impeed airflow to much.

actually I really like the ARB 80 series bumpers .. maybe they need to add spots for foglights like in new models, but the space that you have to run a big winch with plenty of space to see what's happening there when using it it's higly appreciated for me ..

It don't take a lot of money or skill. These are $25ish auto fog lamps from Walmart. I just removed the standard ARB aux lights I installed when I installed the bumper. I bent the tabs out of the way in case I want to remove the fog lamps and re-install the ARB lights. Fog lamps need to be installed as low as possible. This was as low as I could put them and still be reasonably protected off road. The fog lamps are aimed slightly off center and work well for illuminating the sides of the road at night. I also use them as daylights to save my headlight bulbs.

Hope you don't plan on it coming in soon. I've been waiting on mine for over a month.

I just ordered the sliders and bumper today so it's gonna be a couple weeks before i get it ordered. I talked with Slee today they measured it and said a 20 inch bar should mount well. I'm gonna need a couple of pieces of stock metal to change the mount just a bit but should be pretty easy. I'm excited he says it will put out more than enough light for my application.

it's iconic.

Yep, that's the word that best describes the ARB on a 80, iconic. I can understand those who want to express something different -- I'm that way about some things -- but it's just so functional at the same time.

The combination knocks me dead -- and for all the imitators to the same look since that doesn't quote do it, there's the proof that the look of an ARB on an 80 is a lot like warts on hogs. They just improve the special beastliness that this strange brew invokes.

Back to the subject at hand [pardon me, it's Happy Hour:flipoff2:]...

Yeah, if I had a way right now to make the proper Rigid light bar go into the mail to me from Slee, that's where I'd put it, too. It's the closest to placing the driver directly behind the light -- which helps improve your vision when using it.

Probably due to federal contract commitments. Those guys gotta see.

Might be one benefit of peace when it comes, cheaper LED dazzlers on the shelf for the taking.

I decided to go in the direction of rediculous (cuz I can:flipoff2:). After I replaced the two lower lights with HID's from Checker (so far so good), I realized that I had a handful of extra lights laying around, I thought of adding a pair to the top tabs but didn't like the look. Then I lined up all of my spare lights on the ground and thought, why not make a light bar? I used a piece of DOM I had, capped the ends, drilled wholes that matched the top tab locations and welded in threaded rod. Added tabs for all six lights then sent it to powder coat. Obviously I didn't want this on full time, so I made it removable. Using two marine four port doc plugs, I wired all of the positive leads for each pair to a relay pack, and all of the negatives to a local ground. Painted one red and one black (for obvious reasons), and fab'd a little bracket that attaches to one of the horn tabs under the hood. On/Off = two nuts and two doc connectors to unscrew under the hood, easy. Also used a four button switch pad that autozone sells, fits perfectly where my factory locker switch should be (I like my ARB switches where they are:)) The lights are as follows: 2 Checker HID, 2 Hella Rallye 2000, 2 Hella Rallye 4000, 2 KC Daylighters (angled out to light up the sides).

Before the flaming begins, yes I know it's pointless, no I don't drive this truck off-road fast enough to really NEED that much light, yes I realize it has a negative impact on MPG :meh:. As I said in the beginning, I just did it cuz I can. Plus my camping buddies say it looks like a space ship is coming through the forest. :grinpimp:

To each there own! Ive done some wierd stuff just for fun! Although it does look like its ready to communicate with an alien craft. You run dual batteries?

I was curious if anyone had mounted additional blinker lights to the sides of the ARB? I've been thinking about this for awhile since the corner lights aren't that visible from the next lane over.

Mot can get you some JDM side marker lights. IMO, they would look better on the vehicle instead of the bumper.

Hell yeah Tortus, bring on the light my brutha!! We need a pic of it shining in the dark!!!

those are slick looking. have you been running them for a while? are they durable? also, do you get good light out of them?
