I figured I'd make this post due to the amount of posts I read relating to if an ARB classic basket/cage style roof rack would fit on a US 100 series. I fell in love with land cruisers while working in Southern Africa and personally love the classic ARB look so that's what I wanted to get. They aren't the most versatile, low profile, or quiet, but they are tough as nails and look great.

The majority of posts I found said it doesn't fit which is why ARB stopped offering one in the US (or at least advertising it on the fitment guide for 100 series). Allegedly this is because the US pattern 100 series have "multiple different roof bolt patterns" and people were returning them claiming that they don't fit. In addition, the forward most mounting locations are about 1" closer together than the rear 3 mounting locations, which makes them too close together for the ARB mounting hardware. Since it took me so long to figure out if it was possible or not, I figured I would make this post to help others out in the future.

What I learned from the posts I read was that while some 100 series have different patterns for the OEM roof rack, they all have the same 4 mounting locations on each side. Typically, there will be 2-3 obvious mounting locations depending on the OEM roof rack pattern you have, but all of them should have a hidden set of bolts just behind the pillar between the front doors and middle doors. To get to this, you just have to remove the rain gutter to find them. It takes about 30 minutes and there are several posts on here about how to do it so I will skip this part. The blue lines are showing where the original roof rack mounting location was for my 3 post roof rack, and the red is the location of the hidden mounts which you need to use for the ARB roof rack.

And here is a photo of the hidden mounts once you remove the rain gutter:

Once you get to the hidden mount points, you just need to bolt on the new roof rack. 2 of the pillars from the mount kit are shorter than the rest, and you need to make sure these go in the middle since ARB doesn't seem to specify in their install docs. You can see from this photo where the rack sits compared to the original one

In total, it took about 2 hours to remove the old roof rack and rain gutters, and 1 hour to install the new ARB roof rack.

The part numbers that work per ARB customer service are:
3 post mounting kit: 3713010
Aluminum roof rack: 4913010
Aluminum roof rack (mesh): 4913010M
There is also a steel version in the same dimensions that I can't recall the part number for, but it will also fit per ARB.

If anyone has questions regarding the process, please let me know and I will answer them as best I can.

Disclaimer: I'm a new 100 series owner and it's possible that there actually are different patterns of mounting location, and I just got lucky. From what I've learned, it seems unlikely but you should certainly confirm you also have the hidden mounting location before purchasing.

Following this thread as I may be getting the ARB classic RR off a fellow mudder. Though I’m not sure how it’ll fit on a 100… it’s the 70X44 3813010 model

3813010 should be the steel version of the 4913010M I have. You can email them to confirm, but it's the same 77"x44" dimensions of the one I have.

These are great racks. Simple and bulletproof just like the 100 series. I prefer that to the newer modular roof racks, although those have some benefits as well.

Thanks for the info. I am debating a homemade t-slot cross bar setup as well..
