Other oprions are accuride hinges that really are the cats meow but of course cost much more as an option.
Christo - Why is MDO better then metal, say your vehicle caught on fire and you had thousands of dollars worth of equipment in your vault, the metal vault is going to turn into an oven and roast everything inside of it. The MDO box will not. Metal box's can't stand up to water/humidity as well, they create and Attract moisture(condensation) and cause rust. The MDO box's once again WILL NOT.
Once again, these are just my opinions (along with some bare facts), as you all posted yours.
I am sure AO carpets the floor of their drawers which helps to some degree but I'd rather not have my guns leaning metal on metal on the sides of the drawers.
Fire - metal boxes heat up rapidly virtually ruining anything stored in them (unless they are insulated and my guess is the AO System is not) not to mention the concern over ammo discharges due to the heat. What people don't realize is that in a car fire it isn't the burning you are concerned with it is the build up of heat inside the box. Plywood burns a certain way (slowly) when large surface areas are exposed and at the same time does not transfer as much of the heat to the inside of the box. This was a big concern for us when purchasing for our department.
Have you looked at the drawers from Man-a-fre? I've been eyeing those and the cargo barrier. Could anyone chime in on those?
MAF Roller Drawer Storage Systems
I have a set of AO metal drawers. They are excellent and I would purchase them again.
One of the primary things that I was looking for was a set of drawers that do not rattle and are heavy duty. The "slide" system on the AO drawers is far, far better than the most expensive Accuride slides (yes, I have a pair of 9601's rated at 500# ea.) The AO drawers have ~24 large roller bearings that ride along a large metal track. A drawer full of tools and heavy parts will slide in and out with no effort. The drawers lock in place with a heavy pin that prevents any movement in any direction.
I have several pictures of my AO drawers and the construction, that I can post for anyone that is interested. It sounds like the OP has already made his decision and he selected the best commercial drawer system that is custom designed for our vehicles.
FYI, the drawers are completely carpeted inside. Sides and bottom. The material quality is excellent.
One of the things you can get with the AO system is a slide-out for the Engle/ARB/Norcold fridge. Does TV offer this as an option or a standard feature?
The only "con" of the AO drawers is that they are expensive but quality construction and quality design and quality materials are not cheap. I cannot comment on the Truck Vault products because I don't own anything they sell.

Still waiting with no idea when they will come in.
