Checking to see if anyone is interested in going out to Anza Borrego this Sunday/Monday. Meeting at the XL Station at 9:00am Sunday (edit) morning. Heading up to Sheep to set up camp then explore the other canyons. Maybe do a short night run. I'm open to any suggestions for runs on Monday. The mud caves at Arroyo Tapia would be fun, Truckhaven...any ideas?

PM me if your interested. We won't have any slow vehicles or drivers, so the run up to Sheep should go quick.

Scott

Hey Scott

A little confused (happens easily)

Your dates say Sun-Mon and your post says XL Station Saturday AM. Typo?

If it IS a typo, and it IS an overnight and your doing a Sunday/Monday run, i should be down. What are the trails like? My rig isnt made for crawling and i am kind of a wuss when it comes to potentionally breaking stuff (been there, done that)

Heading to San Onofre tonight for a little overnight on the beach, but i will be back Sat AM and couldnt care less about football on Sunday!

Lets do this! :D

FYI, for any nerds like myself planning, here are the coords for the meeting spot: N33 15.391 W116 23.035

There is a Charger game Sunday. :flipoff2:

Sorry, I was just out last weekend.

Scott, I'm not sure how the water crossings were when you went out to Coyote Cyn. a few weeks ago, but they sure have changed since Thanksgiving. Have fun.

Thanks for the heads up, Sunday is the meeting day. Have fun at San O, I'm sure you know but the waves are flat right now. :crybaby: Are you staying at the military installation at Church again? Bastard!

Coyote Canyon is no worse than the steep section leaving Mike's was. A no damage trail.

If we can't find a spot with a fire ring (there are only 3) do you have any kind of fire enclosure? We just need something so we don't scar the ground. If not I'll pick up some thing.

My cell phone is dead/broken but I can still pick up messages. 949 235-1494 Home is 949 631-6658

No worries Reid, I hope the game is a good one.

Lot's of water the last week of December when I was there and plenty for you guys I saw!

I will hike up to the South Fork of the Sheep Canyon Oasis and take some pics.

Have a great weekend.

Death Valley soon....

I ran across this some time back, and right clicked, saved. This is Cougar Canyon, around the corner from Sheeps.

Dirt road from San Ignacio? Whoa, gotta check that out.

Scott
I believe the road comes from Los Coyotes, which is no longer open. :frown: It used to be a very popular area.

Yes, i have wheeled there in my heep a ton of times!

Los Coyotes is a perfect example of a badass place to wheel getting shut down by yahoo trashing the place and being disrespectful to the reservation.

Rumor has it that there are a few small groups of 4x4 folks that are allowed in! :D
