I'm going to replace the battery in my 98 LX today. I'm a Mercedes Technician and on certain models after we replace the batteries a radio code is needed, or the windows and sliding/tilting roof need to be resynchronized.

I'm new to the LX so I didn't want to have any surprises after replacing the battery! Are my memory seats, key fobs, radio, etc. going to need attention after the replacement? I looked in the FAQ and didn't see any information so it's likely there is nothing to worry about?

Thanks!

You will have to reset your stations and settings on your radio. The only other thing is you will have to reset your driver memory settings. Which is the norm with all vehicles. Other than that you are good to go.

What about VGRS? Every time I disconnect the battery, the VRGS light comes on for about half a day. Then, it just goes off. Should I be recalibrating it?

Not sure, never ever had that happen and I have disconnected my battery many times, including 2 occasions this weekend when I was replacing the radiator.
