Looks like i'm gonna be a new LC100 owner in the next week or so if the inspection goes accordingly. The LC i am looking at has a Safari Snorkel setup that i do not need. Would anyone want to trade fenders or want to purchase it? The LC is black so if you want to swap I'll only charge you freight to ship plus $100.

Cheers,
Clay

Is it installed? If so, what are you going to do with the big hole in your fender?

Would have to replace the fender probably. Haven't really gotten that far....I'd sell the snorkel setup for what i could get a fender. Looks like about $300. I just want to cover whatever costs i would have repairing or replacing the fender. Loos like the Safari Snorkel sells for approx $500.,

A new import snorkel doesn’t cost nearly that much, and they’re on par with the ARB. I think you’ll be lucky to find someone who wants to go through a fender swap, plus shipping, plus $100, instead of having the pride of drilling the fender hole themselves.

okay...fair enough. Then what's a used Safari Snorkel worth? FOB Texas

If I were to ever install a snorkel, and that's just never going to happen, I would get one of those pre-painted fenders off Ebay. Then I would put masking tape everywhere to prevent scratches as I removed my pristine oem fender. Finally, I'd install the Ebay fender and drill it.

So in your case, with the hole already there, I guess you could order a replacement fender for your drilled oem fender. I payed about $250 to get a Corolla fender, so I'd guess $350 for a LC fender. It also took a month to arrive.

Since i am a noob at all of this. What is the process of removing and installing a fender? Does it require welding? Should one leave it to a professional or DIY?

Most fenders these days are bolted on. In fact, I've never come across one that wasn't. There can be upwards of 20 bolts, though. Tape the front edge of the door and all edges of the fender, or you will for sure scratch things. You may have to remove or loosen the bumper end, the grill and headlights too. The last one I did took all morning of a Saturday.

Don't be too hasty. Check the :36 mark. "This rig can take it. The engine has a snorkel." You never know.

Holly crap. My wife almost ordered a snorkel after we watched that movie together about a year ago. I couldn't stomach the hole saw part of the install, so we passed.
