I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. I'd love to have a diesel but not by this means. Unless I am missing something there is no way this is legal or can be licensed in the USA. Just because you can load it in a container and ship it here doesn't mean you can use it. Would make an interesting conversation piece sitting in your garage or using on your private ranch, never touching a public road or trail.

Does the Euro-spec 200 have ACH? I see that image (function button) on the photos by the crawl control button.
At least the Ruskies drive on the correct side of the car.

This. And while I am at it, I might as well drive this bad boy around my private race track.

Edit:

If you were smart, you could buy this, and find a completely totaled U.S. Spec 200 series. Then, like a mad scientist, you could transfer the parts over to the US spec chassis, making sure to use all the U.S. spec parts where a VIN# was visible.

(Do not try this at home. There were a bunch of guys doing this with D90s and D110 and they all got their peepees slapped by Customs. Think "swat team" type raids)

BTW, what is going on in this picture?

The .gov would just figure out a different way to regulate. Competition is bad, mmmkay.

To hell with emission standards! Let me drive what I want! If I want to drive a tubi pipe'd f355, then let me! If I wan't a diesel 70 series, then let me!

Ah I thought it was crawl control, but you are right, its just AHC.

You must not live in an urban area with air quality problems or someone with asthma. Emission standards are there for a reason. But an open piped F12 would be great.

I live in the capitol city of my state and I have asthma, and I say screw .gov and emission standards. :flipoff2:

On the phone the guy said he legally imported and has a Florida title.

I bet and some AKs also

I bet it comes with some beachfront property in Arizona too.

Correct, Florida does not have safety or emission inspections but we do still require a VIN. Not sure how this guy got around that.

My dad imported a Diesel Mercedes 300D in the early 90s from Germany and drove it for a long time registered in Florida. He even sold it to our neighbor later on. Not sure if that process still exists.

Very surprised by all the know-it-all comments on here. I constantly see people posting "I wish I could get a Diesel, blah, blah, blah". Now that a Diesel LC is actually available nobody wants to at least research if this could be legit?

BAC Mono.....Not road legal in the USA, but - oh forget it

It more has to do with issues at the federal level, not the state. States like Florida assume that federal law has set a certain baseline level of compliance. Each state is then free to enact no additional regulations (like Florida) or lots of additional regulations (like California).

In this case a non-US compliant vehicle younger than 25 years in 2015 cannot be licensed for on the road use. This Land Cruiser definitely fits that bill, whether you want it to or not. Many Canadian cars have the same issue. In the early 90s the regs were a lot looser than now so a lot of grey market cars (like my Ferrari TR512) were imported. This is a no no now.

If it somehow falls through the cracks and the Feds later find out the car could very well be confiscated and disposed of. The buyer, aware or not, is screwed.
