and help me fix my GD cruiser. I am about to have a panic attack.

The problem does not lie in the fuel pump, nor distibutor, nor plugs, nor wires, but... my lack of income and patience. This and only this is where the true problem lies.

I'm Off Friday-Monday if anyone wants a cold beer or 7.

Huh? Could be the aftermarket fuel pump.

Sounds like you have other cars to drive. Park it and go through fuel and air system and check them out until you figure it out. It can get frustating but you will figure it out. What have you checked so far?

I got the carter because I thought they were oe. My bad. I thought I read that on the forum somewhere.

Plugs, wires, all vacumm lines were replaced if they were bad or the slightest bit cracked. Dizzy cap, button, fuel filter. Carb base bolts. Air box. Air filter, Clutch. What next

I don't think it's the fuel pump because this was happening before it was replaced and you also replaced the filter.

Could be a bad coil. If you know someone with a similar type coil - not too uncommon - you could swap it out just to try.
It could be a timing issue, e.g. incorrect setting, loose distributor or your advance is faulty.
Could also be a faulty EGR system. Try disconnecting it and see if the symptoms disappear.
A clogged fuel line.
Binding brakes.

Did you ever check the FCS?
Yeah. I'm not sure what I checked though. I unplugged it and killed the motor. Plugged it back in and heard the click. If the ground were bad could it be shutting on and off like 50 times per second.

Pull the coil...run it down to almost any big chain Auto parts place and have them check it out. I did mine about 2 months ago at auto zone. I would also go thru your vac. lines again

P.S. found bumpers :)

Hey yourname, wanted to extend an invitation to you to come join our Upstate Cruiser Club. We're in SC but we've got guys in NC, FL, GA and AL who are members of our club and go wheelin and wrenchin with us. I live in Clemson and ashville is like an hour and a half away. We've also got a apage here on mud in the club section...just go to the SC page. As far as your rig, like Chris was sayin with the coil...you can take it out and shake it, if you don't hear anything then it's hit the dust. Coil's have oil in them and over time the oil "dries" up and once that happens no more spark. So when you take it down there get a new one and shake it and you'll see the difference. Not sure about Advanced or Autozone, but I know Napa will have one, the one here in town is where I got mine from. Good luck and drop us a line.

P.S. If I was off today I'd come up and help ya.

Any paticular brand coil to buy. I'm going to try this before I get the carb sent off. OE of course but is there a 'high performance' if you will?
