I was wondering if anyone has used a stock A/C compressor unlike the title saying compress DOH for a onboard air set-up ?

I know I'd have to run a in-line oiler to lube it right but how much air will it put out compared to a York ?

Thanks

Not really should have said stock on my '88 FJ62 but thanks anyways :)

Anyone else ?

A/C compressor should easily build 150 psi. port your air output on the top of your receiver "air tank" Plumb your supply line to the center of the tank. have your return line at the bottom of the tank. Install a PRV and a pressuer reducing valve on the retrurn line and your compressor will pull its oil back and continue to circulate and oil itself. The PRV is to lower the pressure on the return "suction side of the A/C compressuer" Allowing it to suck the oil back. Use regular refergant oil and add it from time to time. Also make sure you have a safety valve installed. Most A/C systems are safty at 350.

Thanks Jim I'm getting ready to hook things up and try it out but your helpful hints will really make things easier ;) Can it be done without a tank ?

I'll keep you'll posted of how well it works

No tank, sure. With out a tank you have no stored volume and you have no oil supply return to lubricate your compressor. slow air volume. I would suggest the use of a tank. Would be easier to build your system with a tank and have useable air volume. Harbor freight offers a number of low budget compressor / tank options. Personally "unless you have access to A/C compressors" I would purchase a 12V system from harbor freight and and wire it in. less $$ and an endless supply of low budget parts. If you have a line on Cruizer compressors my 85 came from Alaska and no A/C. Its in my want list of adds.

Well I've decided to add a tank,an in-line oiler and have been gathering parts we'll see how things work out :D

NO one has tried this before  if it works I'll have to do a write-up :D
