Anyone use OLB HID kit?

You get what you pay for when it comes to these things. I had a fantastic experience with all my HID orders from kbcarstuff.com very nice products and if you get the more expensive kit, no relays etc.. True plug and play and only mod you will have to do is drill a hole for the wire and waterproof grommet.

I personally don't believe that "plug and play" and "HID" should be used in the same sentence. True HIDs aren't plug and play on the 100.

This has been beat to death. Consensus is that HIDs in reflector headlights are a fail. If you have reflectors [standard halogen headlights] get some projectors. Love mine. Best mod ever in my book.

Fair enough, they were on the LX. Super easy.

In the LX with projectors (whatever they're called, but stock) it's more acceptable, but it says he has a 98 in his sig so he's got reflector style headlights. Would be blinding to other drivers to just throw in some HID bulbs in the LC. Doing so just gives an awful light pattern as well and gives nearly no concentrated light

That's not to say that HID upgrades thrown into a reflector are not a good upgrade to add some light on the road. I throw them in and point them down to not blind other drivers and it works fine without pissing anybody off.

I think most folks on here are afraid of the "Projector Bandits" who will jump on you immediately after asking about HID conversion in a reflector housing. Plenty of people here do it.

My personal recommendation has been DDMtuning.com HIDs. They're relatively cheap ($35) and have a great warranty program.

My bulbs do not seem bright enough at all, then life the truck and the lighting is awful..

But I am not a science project kind of guy. I like plug and play, mods for sure.

I was thinking HID but maybe I can go drop in some newer model lights or brighter Sylvanias.

Is there a difference in the later model years that is worth swapping for?

The main differences I always think of are the styling and the fully plastic housings. A positive and a negative in my eyes. I'd still do a retrofit on the newer style lights if I ever got them.
