Anyone seen 305/70r17 on +15mm offset?

Seems like it might just squeak under the fenders if I roll them…looking for a “double tuckable” tire package so the tires will fit inside the fenders in an accidental (or intentional) full compression during a whoop or drop off.

As I've run a couple different full fats - 305/55R20 @ 12.5 wide and 35x12.5R20 @12.5 wide...

Both using effective +35mm offset. I can tell you that I kiss the fenders at full stuff. Enough that I run a tad more negative camber in front and rolled the fenders in the rear to keep enough clearance.

What you're proposing with a 305/70R17 (@12.3"?) +15, effectively puts that tire shoulder 17mm (~1/2") further out than my setup. Not just a kiss, but take out fender territory IMO.

I'd caution that some show that 0 offset works. The reality is that they're having to limit up travel with heavier spring rates or bump stops. Also, the rear axle articulating may stuff, but with a square even compression of both sides, will have the tire on the fender.

+25 has a better chance at working. Or maybe a 295?

sounds like a 285 75 r17 w rolled fenders might do it?

Shaving 0.65” off the outside of the tire and pushing the tire out 0.787”/20mm means I’d be 0.137”/3.5mm more into the outside fender than you are.

Do you think there’s enough room to roll another 3.5mm of fender over what you’ve got?

Or should I be looking for a 10.50” wide tire like the kenda 35x10.50r17?

Yes, I think a 285 would work. If I'm following, need to take half the .65" to account for half the tread being on the inside. I think it'll drop in possibly without fender work.

I think the 285 75 r17 is a full 1.3” narrower than your 12.50 wide tire.

Which means 0.65” off the outside, 0.65” off the inside…so you gain 0.65” of wiggle room into the fender if things stayed right at 35 offset.

But in pushing 20mm/0.787” outwards going w a 15 offset, I would then be driving my now slightly skinnier tire 0.137”/3.5mm into the fender in a full double stuff/compression incident (dropping off a ledge or hitting a whoop too hard).

I guess the real question is do you think it would be possible to squeeze another 3.5mm/0.137” of fender clearance through reasonable rolling beyond what you already have?

I'm tracking now. Yes, I think you'll be able to make that work. Some additional wiggle room is that tire is a tad shorter than mine which should buy a bit more margin.
