Maybe I'm out of the loop, but this is all new to me... Anyone know about plans to bring to the US?

Looks like fun. Ahhh, a stick-shift-- I sure miss that.

Pic 21 would be fun to retro-fit into our 80's...

If I were on this media-circus 'off-road' trail, I'd be tempted to take a shortcut. :D

Pretty interesting... I especially like the information center in the center dash. Not so much the screen, but the compass temp etc. I definitely like the return to what APPEARS to be a more compact, shorter-wheel base design (110" for four-door, 97" for two-door).

It looks very much like the land cruiser is becoming a "4Runner plus 10%." Traditionalists may bemoan the loss of 'off-road-worthiness' (IFS, difficult-to-clean interior), but the new technologies of HAC, DAC are neat.

Is this not the same as the GX470? Looks pretty close to me.

Same vehicle w/ the GX having more luxury details. How about this...what's the main difference between the LC 100 and the new full-time 4wd 4.7L V8 4runner other than the LC 100 being a tad larger and, hence, having a larger ladder frame w/ more crossbeams? Shouldn't the new runner be faster off the line (lighter)?

If the 4runner frame is narrower, does that mean one can do a SAS to a new 4runner (say, using a 80 series front axle) while one can't to an IFS 100?

newbie............you win the prize :D........a GX470 is a 120 series, look at the vin plate next time your at a Lexus dealer, UZJ120. 120 is called a Prado and replaced the 90 series Prado.
However the 120 is not made at Araco(like all 25,40, 45(except wagon, made by Gifu), 55, 60, 62, 70,80, 100 ect).........so it's not a "real" cruiser :flipoff2:

I did see mention someplace today of a 125 series......wonder if thats a solid axle 120? ;)

Oooh, a PRIZE!!!! :D

I wonder what it is?

Getting my very first "one-finger salute" on this board was reward enough!

That was directed toward me, right? If not, I'm going to feel cheated. :D

Parked my 80 next to the new GX470, looks about the same size and based on the stats it weighs about the same. If they were about $20,000 cheaper they would make great mall cruisers. I'd pay $30,000 for a new GX470 but $50,000 seems a little high.

I have driven one here already. With a Turbo Diesel. Look neat but actually it is too small. Absolutely not to compare with an 80. The 80 looks much more impressive.

Maybe a LX 470 if you are looking for Options and Prestige.
