First for me. Wix filter and granted this is a Dodge and unless you are a small rodent there is no way to see if the gasket is actually seated flush to the block. What a friggin mess, glad I had a second filter.

we had an aftermarket (actually I think it was a Wix - which I have considered a decent aftermarket) oil filter we put on a reconditioned Ford focus recently and it blew it clean off the car within 50 feet of driving. It turned out the machining of the threads was off and a second filter hung on properly. We also checked the oil pressure before continuing to make sure it wasn't high for some reason.
