I'm getting ready to buy a new FJ and I was hoping that the members could let me know if it is still too early to try to find one selling under MSRP.

I'm looking for a silver or black one moderately equipped with 6 spd and 4wd. It would be okay to email me if you know of a dealer in the So Cal area that might be able to help me.

I paid $100 under MSRP in Laurel, MD (just north of Washington DC). BTW, there are tons (relatively speaking) of FJCs around here for sale.

I think supply might be catching up with demand. My local dealer (White River Toyota, White River junction VT) used to get 1 or 2 in and move them right out. but they've had the same 2 silver ones, plus 1 yellow one on the lot for week now, and added 2 Black Cherry's this morning as well.

Initial "Gotta-have-it-now" buyers will be satiated so you should see prices get more reasonable. I'd still expect MSPR or very close to it though.

MSRP at Simi Valley Toyota...but the pay off on my leased Audi was less than the Toyota Dealer told me (the Dealer paid it off), so I got a check for $400 from them a couple of weeks later. So I guess that is MSRP -$400 by accident not by a good deal.

one of the first toyota dealerships i dealt with, showed me the invoice price of the FJ and the msrp. we were sold. pleased at hte price of 27k as opposed to 29, we asked for how leasing would work out with the car. when the quoted price was 29, the dealer told us "we're selling the car at msrp." ....apparently he taunted us with the invoice. we left and went somewhere else. i got an FJ at the last dealership for $600 under MSRP.
