I'm trying to decide whether or not to paint my 88 62 the stock charcoal grey, or switch colors altogether. I was wondering if anyone has pics of a cruiser painted black? I've got no rust on the rig but PO painted it flat gray and I'm not much of a fan...

I had a black 62 one time that was a professional color change from a body shop. Looked great, no pix th.

there was one in denver that was lifted and black. i was surprised at how good it looked. much better than i thought

:cool:Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Another option would be to go sky blue like my 84 60....Always have liked that blue! I agree charcoal gray would be easier and I may just go that route but it'd be nice to have something a little different too.

rig of mortis has a black one, though it has a grey stripe now, but that was a later addition IIRC, so he's likely got some all black shots

A 60 is kinda like a greenhouse with all the windows. I would be afraid of it getting super hot in the summer being black.

Gloss black would look nice IMOP. But black is really hard to spray to look perfect, so it won't be cheap IMOP.

arb did a total rebuild on a 60 painted black with dakar stickers down the side was used as display for the then new dakar suspension and other arb stuff did the rounds at 4wd shows featured in 4wd monthly mag and vid. looked at it up close full frame of resto best 60 ive seen here in oz . they also took it across the simpson went up big red in reverse ! turbo diesel air lockers arb seats open check book type of build !

I love black when it's clean, but it doesn't stay clean...

I just painted my 70 about 2 feet from the bottom, black and the rest is silver... looks good with the two tone, but the black is always dirty... not that being dirty will hurt it.:)

I spotted a black one in a driveway in Lawton, OK in 1995. It really caught my attention and it still sticks in my mind.
Go for it, if you can stand the heat.

Black 60 series' look awesome! (IMHO)

Black 60 series' look awesome! (IMHO) michaelfj60p.webp Found this one on the Internet. I thought it looked pretty kewl. It is my choice of color. My plan is black Durabak bed liner on the entire exterior. Scroll down this page to see what it looks like on vehicles: http://www.nonslipcoating.com/photogallery.htm
