I know there are a few heavily modified GX's running bigger tires, but wanted to see if anyone was running 37" tires with the stock suspension width? Currently running 1.5" Spidertrax to clear the 35's, but it does rub just a bit on the frame in the front at full flex and full lock. Stock wheels are -4.5" backspacing I believe so with the spacers puts me at -3.0" bs overall on the stock 7.5" wheel.
I would like to step up to 37s on the stock wheel and wondering if stepping up to a 2" wheel spacer in front would be enough to clear the added height? Tire width shouldn't change. This would put me at -2.5" bs overall.
I ran a -3" and -2" backspace on my 80 to fit 40's and run -1.5" bs now to fit the 42's. If anyone has ventured into this territory and could offer advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks
