What a glowing recommendation...

Whatcha want to know about it?

Hey Mace,

Pictures don't do justice to imperfections like paint problems, seat wear, obvious signs of impending mechanical problems etc. Some independent eyes on it could give me a better idea of whether or not the trip would be worth it. The price is right, but a lot of planning goes into traveling that far to buy a ride. Plus, the previous owner owned it for only 1,000 miles. I asked the dealer for the story there but haven't heard back.

You're from WI, huh? What brought you out there? Wanna drive it back? ;)

lol Probably no on the drive back thing. I have too much on my plate right now. I can swing on by the stealership and take a look at it for you tho.

I heard back from the dealer on this rig this morning that it's sold (this thread was not up when I inquired, not trying to snatch your purchase!).

Just trying to save Mace the trip. Unless they just didn't want to deal with me because I'm out of town :p Might want to at least call em first.

You're just still mad cause Annie made us "late" dropping off your old 100 series :D

Talked to 'em today. It is sold. Dang. All of them around the midwest are in the $25,000 range unless they have 200,000 miles

where is it, I can check it out over lunch

I got another email from the dealer, here's what he said:

It just hasn't got off the books yet. The car was a piece of crap they sent it to the auction.

interesting

interesting

That's what I thought. Kinda shady sounding deal. Seems like a big dealer, but his correspondence with me was less than professional.

Thanks for being willing to "help a brotha out" I'll keep my eyes open for a good one somewhere. 2003+ LC with less than 100,000 miles in the $20,000 range if anyone knows of one. If not, I have the search criteria saved on cars.com

Looks like the car is from the South (as in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Lousiana, etc). The importers there had different options on the trucks.

Cruisers there had 2 wood packages, the factory one, or the one fitted when imported. This had the US "extravagent" wood package.

welcome to Vegas

lemme get a free day and I will.

Back to work on the bug..

I live in Las Vegas and was looking at this rig on craigslist for about 2 weeks. It was first listed at $23k, then $19k, then $18.3k. I called each time it was posted up, and the guy said "oh we just sold that one! I do have a lot of SUVs on the lot though, why don't you come down to look at them?" I said well since I already have an X5, I don't really have a need for another one!

To me it sounds like a bait vehicle. I wrote it off, and then I saw it posted again today at the same dealer for $29k!! I would stay far away - I wouldn't even waste the time driving down there to look at it.
