Hey y'all:

I'm looking to buy a 62 down near Sumter, and I was hoping I could con/bribe one of you to go check her out for me before i buy the plane ticket:

Truck looks to be in decent shape (though clearly repainted with rust on the haunches). So long as she's mechanically pretty sound and the frame is solid, though.

My folks live in Charleston and I can get dad to go pick her up for me, but he doesn't know cruisers and I'd like to get an eagle eye on her before I commit.

Anyway, $50 and a case of your favorite if you can swing it this week sometime. Let me know?

I might be able to help, I live in Sumter SC. However I work for Uncle Sam all over the carolinas, Ga. and Fla. so I can never be sure of when I will be home. If I get in this week end I will see if I can run by and look it over if it still is available.

180k miles.... not even broken in yet. Pretty pricey though.

Yeahhhh...the price is high. The truck was a northern truck til 06, too - and I can see overspray in the wheel wells, so I'd be most concerned with the rust. But like you said, not really even broken in yet, esp. with a rebuilt tranny.

I can't see a 62 bringing that kind of money, even restored.
I don't think I will be up that way soon, though.
