I've used both the Offroad Connection and Bluetorch Fab for fab work on previous heep rock crawlers, but are there any other fabricators who can make a set of slider steps for a 100 series? I'm headed to Ouray, Co at the end of the month and the $1k options from some of the vendors are hard to swallow.

Matt (bhmmapping) does.

Not sure if he has time.. I but I'll let him answer..
Sure enough money would get him motivated..
(so far he has just about broken even on the sliders)

The 100 series sliders are the sexiest on the market though....

Ok they are all the sexiest and all different; because they actually functional art.

I would do it, but end of the month would be tough. I still haven't finished a roof rack I talked to Jim about last year(tubes are bent so it should go fast though) and I have another set of 80 sliders to do also for lahunter.

I don't know what shipping is on these and I hate to recommend them after the lawsuit bs but...

supposedly in stock and ready to ship in 24 hours. I am sure you have seen them though.

I could start an auction..... But I designed mine (over imitation good eastern NC BBQ) and made a friend, filleted an index finger, had 2 surgeries, traded a devil machine, all while I put them on and a neighborhood got defiled.... So, no.

Matt B gets it. And I appreciate it.

I hear ya. Those are a good price but shipping is crazy. Keith at the OffRoad connection is running the ultimate adventure this week with the magazines so ill check with him nest week. My fab guy who built my rollcages moved to Kansas but ill check on hardline crawlers as well.

I been giving them s*** asking them if they've ever seen them trails before, they was at MM! LOL.
I love that park though, it was cause I'm jealous they're on UA and I'm not.

I saw some of the Western guys brought fullsized trucks and busted out their windows at MM.

Last time I was out there, my YJ on 37s was too small to run with the group so I rode in my buddy Brennan's CJ four linked one tons and 42s. That place is nasty :steer:

I spent most of the day pulling cable for people.

I did primos on my 30" flat-tow "rollers". My primos claim to fame!

metaltech somehow managed to trademark the two piece stepped outer rail design and are actively suing other companies for using it:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/73351745/Metal-Tech-Cage-LLC-v-John-Sundquist

they also sued demello and some others as well from what I understand. The FJ cruiser folks are apparently very unhappy with them for it.

They created a fake giveaway in the 80 series section to use in the lawsuit which is especially uncool IMO.

Well, I know other manufacturers that prolly shoulda patented their stuff as well. And at least MT is the ones going after them and not some patent troll company.
But sucks none-the-less for anyone wanting to use the two bar approach. Maybe go three or four tiered?!

I snagged a set of the OPOR sliders with the current 20% off sale. should be this week. I learned my lesson a few years ago after destroying the rockers on an uprotected jeep on a supposedly easy trial and these will double as steps.

While I don't have a problem with the idea, I do take issue with the fact that they are suing anyone that is making them, and are actively seeking damages from them. I have talked to a few folks who claim (no way to know myself) they can actually pre-date the MT sliders with other brands, After all there are only so many ways to make a slider, their body maybe, but the rub-rail can only be made so many ways... just bad form in my book.

Probably will make me reconsider any purchases from them that might have happened in the future.
