So I crashed my 60 on the 101 southbound yesterday and the frame is all jacked up. I might need a new one if I can't rebuild mine. Does anyone here in town or here in the state have or know of anyone that has a fj60 frame?

wOW - frame damage ~ must of been a heck of a hit. Everyone involved ok?

Yeah I'm okay, landcruiser however is not. Hit a concrete wall on the 101 at prob 60 so it tweaked it pretty bad.

I have a frame, I'm coming to AZ:steer: to visit my family in early april. My brother is mrhustle23 here on mud. I am willing and able to bring it with me. Will ask $150 for it. It's in great shape as I bought a complete 1985 fj60 from a junk yard. I've parted out most of it but the rear half and the frame and some small parts. I should be able to put the frame in the back of my dodge as I'm flat towing my fj62 out to do some trails with my brother and for Moab later in april. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Steve

If the logistics of the deal with Steve don't work for ya, get in touch with Kavik. He's got one in his back yard.

Okay so now that I got the landcruiser home it looks like the frame and body are pretty much okay. It looks like the engine/tranny/transfer case all broke off their mounts and slammed into the radiator. So who knows what is wrong, I'm just gonna look for another deal on an fj60 and swap my axles/hysteer/everything else onto it and then have a parts rig to either part out or turn into something sick. I think thats my best option. I've been thinking of making a serious crawler lately or some sort of sick prerunner for the dunes. Maybe this is my chance? I bought mine for 800 bucks on craigslist 2 years ago. My buddy got another one for the same price so I know that it wasn't just a fluke thing. Anyone know anyone trying to get rid of a 60 for cheap? Doesn't necessarily have to be running, I can get it to move. I just don't feel like having to buy new engine mounts, reweld up the old mounts, figure out if my tranny/transfer case are ok, buy a new radiator all just to have a 2f still. I don't care what anyone says about toyota reliability blah blah blah, that engine blows. I guess I could do an engine swap but that would end up to be about 3 grand. If I can find a semi-decent 60 for 1000 bucks its a done deal. Course now the economy is bad and I gotta wait for the right timing. Anyway, I'm done ranting.

You have a pm...

Okay so now that I've seen the damage I think I've come up with my own solution. The frame seems to be okay, at least my friend kurtis thinks so. My ciusin has an early 80s 1 ton with a carbed 454 and a t400. I think I'm just gonna get that truck and mate it to my transfer case. If my pinion bearing don't handle it ill deal with that later. I can always deal with those problems later. I could even convert it to tbi if I wanted. Plus I'd really only need to buy probably 1000 worth of parts. Basically just advanced adapter and some mounts. It'd be so sick. Yeah I could probably hook the 2f back up but it would be the same amount of work as an engine swap for an underpowered engine that I despise with a passion.

Frame or body/frame for transplant to HJ60

Hello Kavik and/or goofy02022 (or anyone else following this thread) - Been away from the CSC forum for a while, so just stumbled on this thread this evening...

I've been looking for quite a while for a replacement body & frame, or just a frame, for my beloved Canadian-born (and rusted) '86 HJ60's skeleton. Body has some rust that could be repaired, but the frame's rust is terminal... So both would be nice, but replacing the frame is essential very soon. My engine, transmission, driveline, suspension and axles/wheels are fine. So, could be just a 60-series ('85-'87 preferred) frame, frame and body, or a rolling LC whose engine and/or transmission have gone to the big junkyard in the sky.

So, since it looks like coolotisdog's frame survived the crash (and glad to hear he did, too), let me know if anything like that might still be available in central AZ. I'm in Prescott but willing to go pretty far afield to get a rust-free frame. Thanks!
