I'm a long time lurker in Charlotte and was hoping you guys know the details on this cruiser for sale in Charlotte:

1975 Used Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Cruiser at Ron Shue Imports in Cornelius, NC, IID 5538699

It has ONSC and IH8MUD stickers so I'm hoping you guys can help with the real history. I looked at it a few days ago in person and the restoration looks pretty solid - price is high but wanted to see the details and any build history that might be on the site. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and hope to be a real ONSC member soon!

I think i've seen it before on here. But then clean fj40's always seem to be red.

Are you going to wheel it??? If so i'd look else where. That thing is too clean and way too expensive for a stock ish 40 to wheel.

If it's just going to be the easy occasional trail rig/beach cruiser and you have that cash burning a hole in your pocket go for it but I don't think it is worth that much. I don't know if it is sold yet but look at S4Cruiser sale thread on his. Nicest looking cruiser ever and about 6k less. :hhmm:

Agree with LT1 that it is pricey. Before I spent that much, I'd work with one of the import companies and have a cherry FJ40 or FJ45 or Troopie sent over from Australia or New Zealand for less money.

This FJ40 has an Aqualu aluminum rear tub (from front floor boards back) plus Aqualu's rear storage tailgate and Aqualu's first generation front fenders. Seem to remember a prior post here in the NC board (over a year ago) where the owner's son took possession of the truck b/c it wasn't getting much interest on the car lot. It looks a LOT better now w/ OEM wheels plus a spare tire carrier...can't remember if that Metal Tech cage was installed previously or not.

Never drove it or heard it run so I can't give you any details on it...but the restoration did look to be above average.

Maybe call the owner :meh:

Ha, yea and if you haven't already I'd first suggest calling the dealership as they know a majority of the info. Once you see it in person you'll definitely be impressed but I've decided that the price is just a little too steep for me. Also, I'm leaning more towards an FZJ80 now too.

The dealership does not not much about it. Just a few of the major things that were done to it. I figured somebody on here whould know more information about it. I have requested more information about it from the dealership.

Yep, sadly its mine. It's a money pit and I can't afford to keep it with me being a jobless college student. Somebody is gonna have a blast with it I'm sure.

Once we got it we had the engine rebuilt, IPOR replaced all the seals and rebuilt the front knuckles, IPOR rear bumper/tire carrier, MetalTech cage, $1,500 stereo (which is beautiful IMO), had it sprayed with bed-liner, OEM wheels which we had powder coated as opposed to rattle canned, new exhaust from the headers back with Flowmasters (sounds nice), RoundEyes headlights, DUI distributor, sliders, new gas tank and lines, other crap I can't remember. If you want a price breakdown, get in touch with my dad he'll let you know all the details. It runs like a dream, it just cost over 30k to get it there.
