thanks guys, but I think I got it figured out. I am buying a winch from a guy in Canton, and he agreed to hold it for me.
If you need help, just let me know. My brother lives really close and he has a big garage and can hold it for you if you need it. No problemo.

Update...
This is becoming a big headache...
So I sent this guy with the 8274 I was going to buy a deposit to hold it for me until I could stop by on the way out west to pick it up. Well, I have had to cancel my trip (https://forum.ih8mud.com/expedition-builds/167721-project-overland.html, post 344) which means I can't pick it up and have no use for it right now. I backed out of the deal, but the guy won't refund my deposit until he sells the winch, which makes no sense to me, but I figured I wasn't going to get anywhere arguing with him over the phone.
I really hate to involve anyone else, but I think I need some help. The way I see it I have 2 possibilities:
1. I just buy the winch, and then try to sell it again myself. But clearly I would need someone willing to accept paypal from me to bring him cash for the balance and pick the winch up for me.
2. I help find a local buyer who does need the winch. I would prefer this, since it wouldn't require me to buy a winch I no longer need.
So here's what I know of the winch:
It's a rebuild 8274, ready to go. It comes with fairlead, cable, hook, etc. He wants $625 which is a pretty good deal. He is located in Canton, GA and owns a heating and A/C company.
If there is anyone interested in the winch and helping me out, please let me know. I kind of in a bind right now, with very little I can do from here...
