Never had wild turkey. Texas hogs are good eat'n for sure. I had four people trying to fill a deer tag for me this year and I struck out.....

I'm not into hunting, my obsessive compulsive side is bad enough with wheel'n, I'd hate to see all the junk I'd end up hav'n to store if I got into hunting too. I gotta have a hobby to keep from going crazy (er) but I can only have one.

Mike, You're right about having to store a lot of junk if you take up hunting. I'm still trying to find places to store all my junk. Seems like every year, I end up with more stuff to put away. I'm already making plans for what I need to purchase in the next few months. Rick

Newbie? heck i've been trying for one of dem birds for 2 years now! I'm thinkin TAC Turkey shoot! Who's hostin..

Mark.. we need a thread on your shorty.. If your not aware I might know a thing or 2 about your new truck..

Oh yeah.. Who was lookin for a gun? Check local auctions. If ya want cheap get a mossberg 500 or reminton 870. I got one of each accidentally.. I just wanted one backup pump, just keep your eyes open and you'll find something in the 3" range with choke tubes for bout 2 - 250. If your just needin a shotgun I can loan ya one but none of my spares have removable choke tubes just my semi.
Or just keep checkin pawn shops.. You can find something easily

headed up to pick it up on friday afternoon...hope to be back by sunday night if all goes well...i gotta couple of stops to make along the way....i did not know you had 45 shorty experience....i will make a note of that and try not to drive you too crazy with questions...this one comes with an extra f engine so if anyone is needing an engine let me know....i am looking forward to gettin it home!

I believe a short story for our club newsletter is in order on your pickup ordeal. That was a fun trip.. It was trainrech, sherpa and myself.. Driving up there with full moon all night was awesome! Just about this time of year as well.. Prepare for extreme cold.. REally COLD.
ANd turkey! Pick a weekend of spring turkey and that would be a totally different fun club thing! I'm totally in.. As I've never gotten the opportunity to tag one yet. I know a bunch would not partake but it's totally fine to get a small group together so everyone can meet in different situations.. I believe mr "it flies it dies" is a safety instructer as well and would be a great asset to that undertaking! Mr Shea? You listening? we need your particular expertise..

Mark.. Please do call if you have questions.. And DONT throw anything away from it.. I mean anything.. I really really need a rear window lock.. And if you didn't know I have a 64 swb 45 in the garage that's my next project. Pretty much sorta bone stock looking right now.. Will look stock when I'm done but don't want it to drive as such.
Really, Call me when you get home and mail me a picture cd so I can help you with your plan of attack. We can have a little friendly competition on rebuilding an fj45.. I got a couple years on ya on parts gathering tho. Pretty much have everything sitting around but the time and patience to start. Have a safe trip.. Mine was very memorable, good friends and a fun truck in the mix..

thanks erik....as friday gets closer i can hardly sleep...kinda like a kid at christmas...we just got a new camera for xmas and it will be traveling with us...you can see this truck in the 45 classified section....buying from dukes murray....he has a whole pack of em up there and he made me a good deal on it....i nearly have my plan for the rebuild formulated...i love the look of the truck but like you would like to update certain items...the turkey hunt would be great!...jake has been dying to go and now we can give it a try...lot o turkey around here....everyone that attends will have ample chances to kill one.....and yes i will write an article for our news letter on the trip to get the truck...with photos

Id be willing to show you yahhoos some turkeys!!! 180 acres of Platte River land full of 'em. Might even show you how to kill 'em with a bow and arrow. Only you all would have to come to Nebraska!!

March 25th with bow, April 14th with shotgun, end May 31st.

Can't remember, but I think I was working overtime that weekend. I'm figuring on making it to the spring DSR. Are you bringing any of your(Jake's) toys to the annual meeting? If not, I might have to come down sometime soon and check out the 45. Rick
