Anyone ever use a Glass mount CB antenna?

A few of my buddies are running this type of antenna for the 2 meter radio. They work pretty good, the ground plane is obviously not the best but for cb car to car I am sure they would work just fine. With the 2 meter and that type of mount we usually get at least 3 miles depending on geography. I considered one but I couldn't decide on a good window to mount it on since all of the windows on the US 80 series move except the windshield and I didn't want mine there.

I use a glass-mount for ham. Radial-Larson. No complaints.

I use the radio shack glass mount antenna on my 80, and I am very happy with it. It tunes via a small screw on the indoor part, and I haven't been able to knock it off yet. About the same performance as a cheapo mag mount....

BTW yer prolly going to get bumped to outfitting and then told to search.......

Cheers!
Dan

I heard bad things too, and the one on my pig was terrible, but the one from radio shack is outstanding......

Dan

Looks like the one that you are eyeballing is on par with the radio shack unit....

Are you sure you want a permanent mount antenna?

I wired my cb so that it can be moved from one vehicle to the other. Have you looked at the Wilson Lil' Wil magnet mount antenna. Great little antenna. It can be remove when it's not in use. Cost around $40.

Ok, screw it. I just talked to the boys at my radio shop and they said they wont even sell those in their store.
Im gonna go with my trusty Wilson 1000 hard mount.

thanks yall

you guys can delete this post if you want too now.

Good choice!

I have one on the rear drivers side of my 02 tacoma and it actually works fine. It's no worse than anybody elses c.b. out on the trail or on the highway. The truckers obviosly have the advantage out on the road with the big stuff and the elevation but for the average guy(me) mine works fine and i am happy with it!!
