Anyone bought the Pirelli ATR tire, yet?

I heard yesterday it's a strong competitor in the Revo segment and also new - any one familiar with this one yet? Thanks!

I had a set of Pirelli Scorpions A/T on my old S-10...they were OK. They wore poor (uneven) despite rotations every 3K. They all were looking really bad after 20K and I replaced them. They were also pretty spendy for an A/T tire...over $200 IIRC. Maybe these new ones will be better all around!

We had Pirelli Scorpions A/T on our '92 from the PO. They didn't wear very long and I replaced them with Goodyear Wrangler ATs. I was much happier with the Goodyears. Both were 'stock' sized.

All of the Scorpions I have seen on the trail have had holes in them, they appear to have glass sidewalls. This may or may not apply to the new tires, but I would be leery of buying them if trail running is part of the plan.

I had Pirelli Scorpion AT's and they seemed pretty happy to be unbalanced and difficult to keep smooth... wasn't happy w/ them.

Offroad they seemed ok.

I went back to where I got mine to complain and was told I was the only person they had ever had complain about the Scorpions.. Glad to know I wasn't...

Salesman will tell you anything....geez...

Thanks for the input. I'll cross those off the list and keep the Revo's at the top. I've done quite a bit of research and the Revo's really seem to be quite the well executed and carefully developed product. Nobody says anything bad about them except a side wall puncture issue here and there. Wheeling will be part of the use, but a very small part as this is for the 97 which hauls the family and the boat. We'll explore here and there, but rocks where sidewalls become vulnerable won't be on the menu....

Appreciate the Pirelli input a bunch! I knew you guys would have some helpful stuff.
