Drove right by there on saturday with Rhino's ex-2f in the back of the truck. Wanted to stop but, I know I'd find something I could'nt live without.

Hows it compare to Cabelas?

I've heard it's an absolute madhouse -- just as anticipated. I'd rather slam my dick flat with a hammer than get within 20 miles of crowds like that.

Although I detest crowds with great passion..........I think that is a little extreme!!

Might have to go check it out In a month or so, if it's like the one in Springfield Mo., I think I could put up some of that Phoenix traffic;p

D'Animal, is it Manteca or Rancho Cucamunga thats close to you?
Been yet?

I don't think the Rancho Cucamonga location is open yet. It might be but I don't think it is. I was just here wed so I should have stopped and checked.

The Manteca one is not open yet, I guess it is still under construction. I'm in Manteca right now people talk about it coming to town but thats about it.

Plan on spending the better part of a day if you do.

BTW, sounds like you've traveled the valley of the sun:D

I want to go and check it out but I am afraid. My bro went on Friday and spent $500! He couldn't resist all of the sales.

Went last week, didn't think it was as good as Cabelas. On the other hand it's an hour closer to the house.

and it's nothng close to the one in Springfield. That one is HUGE!

Went on Saturday afternoon. Similar to Cabella's but didn't seem to have as much "stuff" stuffed inside. The fishing gear section is "HUGE" as expected. Didn't see any rediculously priced rods and reels though, which I found kind of odd, not that it matters as I'm not much of a fisherman anyway. The "Fine Gun Room" didn't really impress me much either although the $97K 20ga was pretty cool. The kids had a great time though, spent close to 45 minutes checking out the fish in the tanks and streams. Being that it's at least an hour closer than Cabella's, and on my way to and from work everday, I'm sure I'll visit many more times. Although I do prefer the product choices at Cabella's, the location is key for me here. And the best part of the whole visit for me was getting out the door with only dropping $30.

I spent 2.5 hours there on Sat with Heather in tow. She's such a good sport.
It was like an ant colony. Only less organized.
I prefer Sportsman's. And I miss Popular. Cabelas' gun room is much better. But if I were after a gun, I'd use a locally-owned shop.
I doubt I'll go back, unless my dad ever flies in. He's a die-hard fisherman. But he also lives near Orvis, so BPS is just like a Wal-Mart to him.
