Any way to tell if panels are original on 60 series?

I'm looking at a 60 series and wanted to see if there is anyway I can tell if panels, ie doors and hood are original. I remember a BMW that I had that serials on each panel but wasnt sure on these???

Are you trying to determine if it's been hit? A close look should be able to reveal any replaced body panels. Look for overspray, tone differences, pits that have color in them, etc.

Look at the insides of the panels: most accidents are front-end. Front panels are easier to replace than rears.

Remember to take a magnet to check for body filler. I like that trick.
I don't know about serial #s on the panels, never noticed any.

Knock the body panel then you can catch different sound if body filler was used.
