Well at one time I had a few FJ40's, they get to expensive so now I have a 86 4runner that I have been slowly bringing back to life. Just wondering if any trips have been planned, the last one I went to was an OBX trip a few years back when I still had my white 40.

I don't have a yota anymore, but i plan on going down to Corolla in a couple weeks.

Went to OBX today with the wife and son. Didn't see any Horses but did see a whale. Also found a little mud on the roadway behind the dunes.

blasphemy!

Well, this year you'll need a pass to drive on Hatteras Island. $50 for 7 days or $120 for the year... Corolla, Duck, and Carova are still free...

Thanks God! At least Corolla, Duck, and Carova are still free, and they are still closer to where we are. $50.00 bucks for seven days pass, ouchh!

NO COMMENT! Be thankful its not closed completely

Went to corolla beach today with a couple of buddies. The beach is open until May 1st for vehicles. The sand dunes were a blast in my 40. If anyone is up for going the last weekend of April let me know.

if i remember correctly, a sign posted before entering the beach read that from May 1st until Sept no vehicles are allowed on the beach... i may have missed something though

I believe that the "Corolla" beach south of the barrier is open in the winter. You can get on at the lighthouse for 1 place.
North of Corolla ( Swan Bach, Corova) is the normal year round, at least for now.

Notice that in the pic he is prob on the south side of the 1st barrier. Since you can see vehicles on the other side, I'm assuming thats not VA over there.

This is correct, the fence access that heads back south towards Kitty Hawk is open in the winter. During the summer it is closed, you can go on the beach road north towards VA year around. Though the Fence around the State Line of NC/VA will not open to anyone that does not have a key. The only people that have keys are Forest Department and the very few people that lived there before that fence was locked.

ONSC has a ride based out of Frisco last full week of April, anyone interested?
