I got the jet sizes from SOR for the 75 carb (2F) engine. You asked me a question.... remember, I just can't help myself.
Maybe bad logic, but thought the fuel requirements would be greater for the 2F versus the F --- so, thought I would allow more juice to flow -- I have many variables that seem to affect the running of this rig whereas my 72 FJ 40 (stock) just runs well.
Gets Complicated -- and I am simple minded:
Yes, will be using the Non-USA carb -- it is currently sitting with 1.12 Primary and 2.00 Secondary, but have NOT tried it out yet (this carb will allow the vacuum advance distributor to function for me -- I hope). I have been using a 74 USA carb (no vacuum line hooked to dizzy - carb vacuum line plugged) with a 1.14 Primary and 2.00 secondary with a "linkage set-up" - will convert the Non-USA carb to linkage from the 74. Have not been able to drive do to no throttle linkage control -- other thatn stealing from my 72 FJ40
With 74, cylinders 2,3,4,5 burn well but 1 and 6 are problems (maybe the intake/exhaust manifold gasket) but have not been able to fully diagnose (too many non-stock variables --- 69 HI-PO intake, header, maybe leaking intake/exhaust gasket, non-USA distributor). Plug one, fires intermittently at low rpm, but 6 fires like the other 4 -- well (replaced plugs, wires, cap, -- points look good and set at 41-42 degrees) -- grounds have been checked.
Timing is set on the "bb" with no vacuum line hooked up. Compression is 142-146 across all 6 cylinders. I think engine is good -- valves seem a little loud in comparison to my 72 FJ40.
Thats my story and I am sticking to it
Opinions: do I stick with the 114 Primary and 200 secondary or give it more juice --
