Any Recommendations for an affordable Mag Mount antenna for my HT (Yaesu) for Cruise Moab?

Mark, this is what I run with my yaesu FT-65R dual band hand held in the 40, it does alright. Reception is good but transmitting 5w out of that antenna range is better than your standard antenna on the handheld but still not amazing. It's what I'll be using at CM with my Icom 2730A (moving that over from the 80) since it has 50W of power and the mars mod on that radio makes me cruise moab compliant as far as radios go. It'll be interesting to see how that mag mount does with more power. The magnet is solid, place it somewhere that you wont see your paint everyday or test it with some felt underneath. Also what model Yaesu are you pairing it with

FT-60R that Matt programmed for me with paired with a Diamond SRH77CA that he recommended.

I have a Tram 1235 mag mount with Tram Dual band NMO antenna. The NMO mount style is very common, so if you ever break the antenna, you can find another NMO style easily. (I haven't broke one yet.)

cable from mount is pl259.
so get an adapter for female so-239 to BNC male.
get another adapter SMA Male to BNC female. This is a quick release style that will fit the top of your Yaesu.

I'm happy with the set up. You can run the cable through your rear door without hurting the cable or your door seals.
