I am looking into leasing an fjcruiser. I am curious about prices paid and what residual. I am ideally after a 60month lease with 12K per year if anyone has a similiar contract and feels comfortable posting I would appreciate it. I haven't been able to find out where the residuals are set at on the fj yet. Thanks
Dennis

I considered this option and I believe with no down It was about 500ish with 12k and high low 600s with 15k. I believe these were 60month leases. I financed it.

5k down 60 month $412 5.5% interest rate

yeah from what I am getting so far Toyota is being extremely cautious with the residuals. From what we had on our 4runner I would have expected better. Oh well, I guess I wait 6 months for prices to settle and have a new four door WRANGLER(REMOVABLE TOP) to compare. PLEASE TOYOTA COME OUT WITH A CONVERTABLE

I got a sheet from the fleet guy at Toyota

a $31, 415 MSRP has the following residuals
24 month - 18,250
36 month - 16,852
48 month - 14,322
60 month - 11,992

That's a chunk of depreciation. Personally, I don't see it falling that badly, but who knows.

Agreed.

IMO, I think they're just being cautious. I have no doubts about the FJ, but, what if this vehicle bombed badly? People with leases turn 'em in and then the banks can't get their money out of 'em. I think in the end, the residuals will be a steal for the customer because they've been so cautious.

So then:

24 mos, 58%
36 mos, 54%
48 mos, 46%
60 mos, 38%.

It will never get any better than that, I assure you.

it seemed for us, the 36 month lease was cheaper than the 48. We are in Canada, msrp was about 38,000. we put about 7300 down, traded in our car ($9000) and our payments for the lease are 170 ish a month at 8.5%. financing at 7.5% with the same amount down would be close to $500 a month

Forgot to add that we are planning on purchasing it at the end of the lease, so residual etc isn't a huge deal. Though it will cost more in total, leasing and then financing the residual is better for the cash flow at this point. may not work for some, but we decided it was best for us.
