Been looking for a couple years to get CarPlay in my 16 cruiser and not liked any options as Im not willing to loose any features and dont want to have to rig/play around / constantly mess with it. I saw this and ordered it and curios if anyone else has put one in yet and how they like it, or if any one thinks there is a better option and why ? I have seen the reviews/comments on their previous wired units, but nothing here on the wireless

Yes, I installed mine a few months ago. So far I really like it. Haven't had any real issues with it working or pairing, it just works, period.

Anyone else use this, @Docwyte still loving it?

I have it and it’s been great. I read many threads on here with the four or five other different options and decided on the Beat Sonic. Really no complaints and their support was very quick to respond and help when I did my initial setup about 6 months ago. No issues at all so far other than I think it’s a bit overpriced.

I have it, and it's working great. I have a small write-up on it here.

Still happy with it. Their customer support is peerless. I had an issue (self caused) with the phone calls not defaulting to the factory bluetooth. They answered my emails instantly and worked out the issue quickly. I hadn't named the factory bluetooth correctly, once I did that, everything is seamless

WAYYYYYY late to the party…. But just became the proud owner of Black 2020 LC200 Heritage last week. Just had my BeatSonic installed today at a local shop. Typically do the work myself, but schedule didn’t allow it and really could not abide not having CarPlay for a trip next week. Quick first impressions, seems great...

PROS
It’s CarPlay, once you’ve had CarPlay hard to go back
Wireless
Makes the dash feel a little more modern, until you touch it… That is Toyotas fault, not BeatSonic
Track skip forward and back work on the steering wheel
Shouting into the air ‘Hey Siri’ triggers things as it should

CONS
Not sure on the hands-free quality on the other caller end (had a complaint on my first call, but will test more)
No onscreen volume
You have to hold down NAV when you start up the vehicle to see CarPlay, but playback resumes even if CarPlay is not in the foreground

All in all, VERY happy after the initial despondence of getting my LC and then not having CarPlay.

@Docwyte I completely removed the factory bluetooth connection from my phone and removed the phone from the factory unit. Is this not correct? Maybe this is why call quality was terrible on the other end.

No, that's not right. You should be using the Toyota bluetooth system for your calls, that's why your sound quality is so bad. Beat Sonic has specific instructions on how to set it up. Initially I had it wrong on mine, as you've got to go into your phone and name the factory bluetooth specfically so their CarPlay unit knows not to try and grab the call.

@Docwyte Do you have a link to those instructions?

1. Your phone needs to be connected to the car's bluetooth.
2. The bluetooth profile name on the phone to the vehicle needs to be "Toyota Landcruiser"
3. The phone must be connected to Carplay wirelessly.
4. The phone's call audio routing needs to be set to "Bluetooth Headset"

Then set your phones bluetooth setting

Go to Settings - Accessibility - Touch - Call Audio Routing - Bluetooth Headset.

I just installed it, read directions and did everything correctly. Pins set in the right locations, etc.

What I'm noticing is that the OEM sound quality, especially at high volume is way off (and yes, I did adjust the EQ). 'm wondering if this is because they're routing the sound through RCA jacks whereas before it was through harnesses. I love everything else about it (carplay is great) but I think I may return this. Sound is definitely very important to me. Anyone else experiencing the same when it comes to the music quality?

No issues here with sound. Have you contacted Beat Sonic for support? Doesn’t seem like it. I would at least try that before returning because everything factory/OEM should work normally. You either have something wrong with your unit or with the setup.

Haven’t noticed it. But I do blast the music either

@brasskey what was the result of this? Did you get the issue fixed, or did you end up returning / needing a new unit?

Just to confirm you guys are putting in the beats sonic item that goes from the 2008 to 2018 Land Cruiser? This will work in the 2021 model as well I assume?
