if it does cover the HG no questions asked with the OEM scrub kit... then it becomes worth $2K in my opinion and that truck is a STEAL....

i've PM'd and emailed that question. no response after a few days.

one of the few good things to come out of california in a while. i saw that earlier today and my 1st thought was "too good to be true, there has to be some catch".

Why? it seems to have had a normal life... just with the correct PM from a mud member for the last 1-2 years... Peep the steering wheel at how worn out it is, it's an old truck, just taken care of, at least by the current owner.

It's not too good to be true, it is just priced correctly. Most of the ones you see, especially on autotrader or craigslist, are overpriced. you don't see what people are actually paying for them. If you can wait until gas prices go up this summer they will go way down again and the classifieds will be chock full of 80s. Not what you are looking for, but there is a cool 94 on Nashville craigslist for 5500 that has a lot of fun upgrades.(arb, sliders, mts, rear bumper tire carrier., lift.)

If I have a chance i always stop and look at 80's if i see one parked... i like to find those that have lockers because they are rare... but i found one with them last week near my work... a 97 LX exact color as the one in Cali... i stopped and crawled all over it. Had 120K miles. not a leak under it. I left a note on it asking if he'd sell it and if not i have a roof rack for him for sale... LOL.
Anyway, he was only there for a week because he was testing at that facility is what the receptionist said... he never called me.

I was talking to a guy the other day at Lowe's with a 96 and the chrome handle package that's been around for many years. I was in the 94 bedlined... and i thought he recognized me until he said "This bedlined cruiser might be more unique than the guy i met once who drives a chopped one..."
i had to break it to him that I was the idiot.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for someone who is willing to part with one down here... there's alot for such a small town.

you could always hang out in the robe mans parking lot. I always see two or three 80's there. Catch someone right after they got a huge quote for a front axle job or something simple and I'm sure most soccer moms would just about hand you the keys.

Good deals are easy to come by. I've owned four 80 series and adding them all up I've paid $9600.... WOW. FOUR for under 10grand...

i was hoping to stay with a 95-97 to make sure i got ABS and air bags. its got to be my DD and it may get passed on to my son in a few years.

i hadn't seen that green/tan one over by the coast in georgia. i'll give him a call. i've been using hankshelper and the search tool on this site, somehow i missed that one.

thanks, brian.

green 95 already sold :(

hey... that white 95 has had the timing belt changed... so it most likely has had the HG done...
Why they'd change the timing belt unless the slipper broke and just didn't know any better...

that link is the engine i use. i use "landcruiser", "land cruiser" and "lx450" as my strings.

1996 Toyota Land Cruiser, 180k miles

i've traded a few emails with this guy. he's just a short hop away. i told him i had cash and was ready to buy and that i may be going to atlanta this week. that was the last i heard from him. may be sold.
