on my resto i pulled out a few dents on my panels caused from my wheels bending my fender out and it turned out pretty good.

I would put a long block of wood on the outside of that bend and clamp it somehow right under the lip of the bed.

then , start hitting it with a hammer right on the bend until it flattens out a little. The bed lip bend though im not to sure about maybe someone can pipe in here and help ya with that one. Idealy if the lip of the bed is not solid you should support the inside of it before you hammer away causing another dent. good luck with it!

Careful with the hammer ...

How about 2 large 3/4" plywood plates on the outside (drivers/passenger) of the bed and a long "Pony type" wood-working clamp over the top - right at the dent. You could tighten, little by little, and see if the passenger side begins to come back in without damaging anything else.

I would talk to a real body guy before I started banging around with a hammer. It's really easy to add to damage with a hammer if you screw up.

Body Panel

Thanks for the input. I like the clamp idea. Maybe apply a little heat (torch) to the frame rail at the bend?

Mike,

Use a come-a-long tied off to a pole (opposite side of the bed), apply a little heat and pull it back straight.

Good Luck

100 per cent what I was gonna say! Telephone poles are indispensable in body work!

x3 definatly the come-a-long works really good...you may need to remove the wheelwell to get it really good and then weld it back in ...IMO
