My daughter has a beautiful 2006 LR3 that runs perfectly. Except when it doesn't. She can drive it for several days, and then suddenly while driving down the street, it just quits running. She puts it in park, sometimes it starts right back up, and sometimes she has to wait 4-5 minutes. Then it starts back up and might go great for another week.

What would be your starting point to source this?

The problem is the brand and country of engineering origin. 😂

Honestly, I'd recommend trading it in for a 4Runner or GX. You're going to go insane trying to keep it running.

Well I do have a theory I'm working on: We started experiencing this issue shortly after we installed big subwoofer speakers and amp in the car. I am starting to wonder if the electrical load of those, plus A/C, plus, plus is too much for the battery or the alternator and it's killing the car and something is overheating in some way. So I've unplugged the subs to see how things go. So far so good.

Did this fix the issue? Have you thought about upgrading the alternator wires or going a larger alternator? Does the LR have fusible links that reset?
