After my Smiley Rock trip today I noticed a power on ONLY vibration. When I let off the gas at any speed, the noise goes away, but accelerate and it vibrates everything like crazy.

I read around the forums and it seems to be a bad U joint in there somewhere.

This isn't too surprising since I havent installed the Slee caster plates yet.

Anyone up here who could install the caster plates?

I should probably get the caster done at the same time if possible to avoid killing new U joints.

Any suggestions?

Did you look at your drive shaft(s)? You might have dinged it.

Im gonna crawl under there today to check it out. Im figuring a Ujoint issue since letting off the gas all the vibes go away. From everything Ive read on mud that would eliminate things like unbalanced tires. There were no noticeable scratches or dings on the shafts when I peeked under there, but I'll look again.

I think I'll have to pull the front shaft and drive around with the in low to see if that eliminates the vibes so I know if its the front or rear shaft/joints.

Sounds like a bad u-joint, pretty easy to change yourself. Harbor Freight has the tool that makes it easier for $40.

If it's a front one, I wouldn't spend too much on it, when the caster is corrected you may need a CV shaft anyway. The offending shaft can be removed, the CDL locked and driven in 2wd until shaft choice is determined.

I dont have the CDL button yet...just the CDL lock when I shift into low.

I can't drive it around in low everywhere...but Im sure it would help me determine if I need the front U joints fixed or the rear.

Shift low so that the CDL is locked, pull the locker fuse, shift high range and drive. To unlock install the fuse. No switch needed.

Wheres the "locker fuse" located?

"DIFF" for that fuse? 30amp?
