While I was having window tint installed on 44 today, I walked next door and spoke with a guy in a 'sound' store (a place that sells and installs audio systems and sound deadeners, etc.).

My current intent is to spray LizardSkin Ceramic Insulation and perhaps LizardSkin Sound Control and follow that with roll-on truck bed liner, in my entire bed (wrapping as much of the firewall and lower sides as I can.

I'm not concerned with the sound deadener, but would love to cut down on the heat - especially at the firewall and tranny tunnel.

The 'sound' guy suggested RoadKill butyl 12"x12" self-adhering squares - he said, "since they have aluminum embedded, they significantly cut down on heat as well as sound. And bed liner can be rolled over it".

I can't find RoadKill, but found (VERY similar) GTMat on Amazon - like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BBFUMGA/?tag=ihco-20

Does anyone have experience they'd like to share, regarding this butyl-type product and how effectively it keeps heat out of the cab?

...and about rolling truck bed liner over it?

Thanks!

Dynamat, Ram-mat or Raam-mat, I like the Dynamat but it is expensive. Jegs carrys a ton of different products, anything you stick on is pretty permanent. Check the heat ratings and don't use the roofing material that is asphalt based. The 40's had a painted floor so once you put it in you're committed to carpet or some sort of padding as this stuff isn't going to handle foot traffic. The key to stopping the heat is to insulate or reflect it. Otherwise all the other products will be more mass and hot. Flammabilty is a factor too.
Permanent products need to be treated like paint as you don't want to have adhesion failures. Prep is crucial.
