I have a 2005 F150 4X2 with the small V8 in it, and it wont even get out of its own way on the highway. I was just wondering if the Edge was worth buying, if it makes that much of a difference. I'm not looking for my truck to be a nascar, but im not a big fan of getting run over when I pull out on the highway. So any advice would help, THANKS.:cheers:
 
I've been addicted for over 4 years... the best mod for the $$ you can get....It'll "wake-up" your truck....;)

I have that same model for a work truck, in 4X4. Several of my counterparts also drive F150s and the general concensus is that they all suck. Sorry, but it's true. Our Dodges and Chevy's all have more punch than the Ford. Mine won't even spin the tires on a dirt road (how pathetic is that).

No input on the Edge, but I used the BullyDog programmer in my personal Dodge. What a difference that made! It would probably help your Ford out. :cheers:
 
Am I completly screwed with this locked Edge Evo?

Actually I already know I'm screwed but figured I'de ask anyway . I bought an Edge Evo off ebay, the guy said it was "never used", and of course I got it and its locked to another vehicle :frown: !! Now I just got it today so I might be able to resolve this with the seller, but if not has anyone ever got around this? Seems like there would be a way to reflash the edge so it thinks it was never used, like all the people that find ways to unlock cell phones(I've done it myself actually). I am really pretty frustrated but I guess the $250 price tag was in fact "to good to be true".:mad:
So anyone got any suggestions?
 
You're pretty much screwed unless the seller steps up. I've never heard of any way to get around it, the Edge removes your stock file and stores it and then uploads its own file. So there is no unlocking it.

What you can do is send it to Edge and they can reflash it for a charge.

Have your unit, cable, access to your computer and them on the phone all at the same time and they can un-lock it.....to get a jump start you'll need:

Thanks Grant for pointing me in the direction of Bill ( by the way is the Man!) He took great care of me, got everything straightened out in about 10 mins and I love my new Edge!!:cheers:

got any custom settings you wanna share for level #2???
 
Here's what I've found to smoke the tires on my truck...



Edge Evo EEF-2400
Level 2 custom tune
Max rpms: 5450
+1.52 WOT Fuel
+2.0 timing advance (I've found more low end torque with 2 rather than 3)
speed limiter set at 200mph (I hate speed limiters)
shift firmness 1-2@+12, 2-3@+12, 3-4@+6
WOT Shift points: 5250 for 1-2 and 2-3 4800 for 3-4
Adjust for tires and gears.
I've been averaging about 18.2 MPG with this tune.......
I have never put it on a dyno, but judging by the seat of my pants method, it really gets up and goes (and scares my wife:lol:)
 
Crap!!

All has been working well until this morning! I go out and start the truck and some sort of error message came across the screen so I shut down the engine and restarted it but know the Edge is dead:frown: I've restarted it several times but nothing happens, I think its been killed!:mad: Just thought I check for ideas before I begin the long process of contacting the Edge folks. :confused:
 
Unplug it from the diagnostic test port (key off)....

wait 3 minutes and plug it back in .....

switch to key on (don't start) .....

let it go through the boot cycle and when thats complete turn key off wait 1 minute.....

switch key on wait for display and start truck.......

should be good to go........
 
IT worked!! Sorry for the time lapse as I've been gone on Holiday. So WTF? Is this going to recur? I had the truck in stock mode when it took the dump, but if it had been in #2 or 3 what would have happened? :confused:
