I ordered up the ruff stuff anti-wrap kit and it arrived today. I did a quick check for fitment and found I have to grind out the axle opening on the brackets to fit on the Toyota axle. No big deal. The brackets are about 1/4 inch thick. The question is how thick is the axle housing? I get the feeling my little Lincoln 110 won't give me enough penetration to solidly weld the bracket to the housing.

I'll throw up a couple of pics of the brackets and my newly fabbed sliders whenever I find the dang camera.

Is Dan providing his kit with lawn furniture tubing? If not- it'll never hold.

The instructions he sent specifically state to use TV tray legs for rigidity. I'm having a real problem sourcing them. Would it be ok if I used 1/2 inch copper tubing? I know it's overkill but I figure you can never be too safe.

Thanks Todd!

You're in luck- I was able to grab two sets of 4 TV trays at a garage sale last Summer and only used 2 for my anti-wrap bar. If you need some- I have some extra.

I'm not the master welder you've become John. I can weld up 1/8th like a mofer but I'm not too sure about anything thicker. I'm just being over cautious is all.

My sliders are not completely "done". I'm still going to stop out tomorrow to have you bend up some tube for me. I plan on having a set like this http://www.ih8mud.com/images/armor/cruiserbrett1.jpg

These should work nicely on your pretty white 40...

Pretty? You must have your taste buds in your keester. Rustoleum Rattle Can White with goobers isn't pretty. It's unique, but not pretty.

well, I've only ever seen it from a distance, on a trailer. I figured it was a trailer queen.

Sliders??!!
Just cut dem rockers....don't need no stinkin sliders!!

Luke, Those would probably need to be even lower for ole Gramps to climb in.

If they were any lower- they'd function like outriggers. Sort of training wheels for those "learning to wheel". Which, now that I think about it, is another reason that Phil needs them.

The phrase that pays is "I was in fear of my life or the life of another". BTDT

So, I'm in jeopardy because you have an irrational fear for your life? I guess I better check that my life insurance is paid up.

Now that we've finally seen you wheel, there is no irrationality of the fear of you being a danger to others. :flipoff2:

You oughtta at least have a warning label for your passengers.
