Hey Guys,

So I've done a bit of searching on this site and couldn't find the answer, but now when I turn off my LC a light pops up near the clock (a little truck with a key over top). I found something online about a Anti theft device malfunction, What exactly does that mean and how can I fix it.

If there is a thread about this just paste it here

Thanks Gents

This is normal. Unless I'm stupid and mine is broken too.... I have had a break in after all...

haha good! Glad to know im chasing ghosts =D

Thank you

Yep, and for the record my anti theft still works I believe cause I've had friends set the alarm off from the inside more than once. So if it's what I think you're talking about you're in the clear

Alarm and immobilizer have different functions.

The light described is for the immobilizer. Each key has an RFID tag in it that is registered with the ECU there is an antenna at the ignition switch that reads the RFID tag. If a key with an un-registered RFID tag is inserted the engine will crank but the immobilizer circuit will not allow it to fire.

When you open a door and jump in the immobilizer light will be flashing, when you insert a valid key it will stop flashing and allow the truck to start. The light will continue if the key is not valid.

So even though I didn't really know what it was for I was still kinda right haha it IS normal

Yup, I just wanted to add clarification for future searchers and now the thread is long enough to show up in a search.

Thanks all :)
