Was there a whip style antenna option for the 3rd gen 4Runners, or am I going to have to fix my wifes power antenna? I know how, that's a non-issue. Just looking at options.

If there is a whip replacement, will it just fit right into the hole/mount for the power antenna? Are the Taco antennas a match?

You can use the Tacoma antenna on the 3rd Gens if you don't want to replace the power antenna. Use this write-up: The "Tacoma" Whip Antenna Mod.

After swapping out my whole antenna assembly, I think it would be easier to replace just the mast (if the motor is still good) than mess with re-running the antenna cable to use the whip.
