Does anyone know the actual difference in the power antennas? There is a cut off date in 98 for the part numbers for the 100 series.

I have a production date of 04/98 which means I am supposed to have a less sought after antenna. They are kind of hard to find except from the dealer and they are more expensive.

I am wondering if I can get away with the easier to find and cheaper antenna.

Here are the part numbers.

Thank you!

Do you need the whole antenna motor or just the mast and plastic teeth? If you just need the mast, I happened to have went through the car wash this morning with mine partially up and now get the pleasure or replacing. After finding out the OEM one is $70 I went with a generic one off Amazon for $18. Has good reviews from people with LC's and LX's, so we'll see, be here in 2 days.

There are usually a ton of motors/electrical components that do similar things, but the part numbers change often. I might have to change the motor out on a Land Cruiser I'm purchasing. I feel like there are three real options.

1. Take the existing parts and refurbish them. Motors/actuators can be opened and fixed for relatively little cost if things are too bad.
2. Find an OEM replacement. Ebay / junk yard / similar OEM style part from digikey or grainger.
3. Just mount a regular freaking monopole antenna and then use the switch for something sweet like an ejector seat or fog horn... or... etc...

Anyhow, I'll let you know what I come up with. I might be in a similar situation.

My issue is the threads on the cast aluminum pole that fender nut screws on to is stripped/corroded.

I am sure that at one point when I had body work done, they damaged it. That time had come and gone.

I went to replace the mast because the automatic car wash, auto antenna, and wife don't mix, and I couldn't get the nut off. When I finally did...the threads were damaged.

Now I am looking to replace it so it works properly.
