Just wanted to drop a line of appreciation for all who have posted writeups on the antenna mast/gear strip replacement.
Following the writeups I got it switched out in very short order (~1hr).
I did have to remove the wire harness plug into the cruise control box to get clearance for the motor assembly to get out of its little opening in the wheel fender--no biggie.
When I first fed the gear strip into the motor, it wouldn't go down all the way, despite repeated "up/down" button holding. Finally figured out that you actually have to turn the radio completely off for it to retract fully.
Again, thanks for the collective wealth of knowledge to help us newbies out.
Now, on to ordering the BIRF parts from CDAN!
