Another use for the factory spare tire cover (1 Viewer)

when i got my FJ, i felt the tire cover, and i thought to myself, "hmm, i think i can write on this with chalk". today, i proved it right. i don't know about you guys but i've noticed alot of people tailgating my car (be it curiosity or the fact that i obey speed limits). i wrote message on my tire cover
IF YOUR ROOF IS BELOW THIS LINE (dotted line drawn over the tire tread mark on the tire cover) DON'T TAIL GATE, I CAN'T REALLY SEE YOU TOO WELL. i added the "too well" part after i imagined myself explaining to a cop that i cna't really see a mini cooper behind me because of the small rear window. the reactions made this worth it. at first a person tailgates me, then about 15 seconds later, they drop back about 25 feet. no matter what speed i'm going (even if i'm going under the speed limit by about 5), they still don't tailgate. i love it, i laugh every time. i've thought of other phrases like. "tailgating 4300lbs of truck dosen't sound like a good idea, does it." and, "no, its NOT a hummer." "gas is 3.18 for me. OPEC is not my friend" "i like my white roof" and a joke for FJ drivers, "I didn't pay MSRP". try it! i didn't know i had a mobile message board on my FJ, but i'm glad i do!

in case any one has tried this/ cares, its not easy to erase the chalk. after a nice rainstorm there was some chalk still left. i erased it with a standard chalk board eraser, and then tried to use water to get off the powder. its fine now though i'm not any good with chalk boards and can't explain if this process will work every time. my new slogan? "IT'S SO HOT! MILK WAS A BAD CHOICE"

i dunno, my current configuration is my favorite so far. on the top it says, "What would the juggernaut do?"
on the bottom, it has the juggernaut (X-men character) crushing a heep over his head. and a guido (gotti wannabe) falling out the side.
