I'm currently running 265/75R15s, as I understand it a 31" (street) tire. There's a set of slightly used 33 x 12.5 x 15s available locally. How do I tell if these will fit on my wheels? The width is my main concern, I've got about a 2 inch lift so I think 33s will fit in fine.

I realize this is a ridiculous question and I'm showing my ignorance.

thanks, as far as I know they're stock. I'll post a picture tomorrow (so you can all punk me for how small the 31s look w/ the lift) and to confirm. also, the 33s I'm looking at are mastercraft 33x12.5x15 radial mud terrains, guy's asking $240 for a set of 4, anyone know anything about these tires? thanks again.

edited to say: doughboy the pics of wheeling in the gwnf are great and made me homesick; originally from rockbridge county

You may run into trouble getting someone to mount a tire that wide on a 6" rim. I know many people have done it, but I would think you would have a lot of sidewall flex with that combo.

As for the tire brand, sounds like a discount knock-off tire to me. Ive never heard of it. The price seems reasonable, but the problem with those kind of cheap tires is the quality of the sidewall. You can tear them pretty easily.

Im no expert, just my opinions.

Price is reasonable depending on how desperate you are for tires. I picked my set of 33's up for $75 though :)

12.5" wide tires wont work on your stock rims. They may "fit" but many will say its not advisable to do. Pick you up a set of rims used and give her a go, it will look much better. (I picked up my rims for $160 shipped cross country. Guy only made $40-$50 off them!)

I'd say the width will be fine. We're running a set of 16 or 15 inch wide 38s on my buddy's 8" wheels. There are other people on this board running 12" on the stock rim.

Off brand tires arn't always bad. We had some no name all terrain on a truck down and uwharrie and it was the only one that would hook up on the rocks the others were BFGs... it was really strange. I'd say rool the dice then if you find your self wheelin a lot and tearing the sidewalls drop the big money later and get exactly what tires you want.
